Showcase 2009
So You Think They Can Dance? So do we!
Imagine your child on stage, in costume with professional lighting and sets. This is their opportunity to perform with their class, dance in the Finale and receive
special awards for their years of achievement-something the whole family will remember!
From preschool to high school...they can dance!
- This year’s Recital is going to be the best ever! We encourage your child’s participation as the Recital is a chance for students to show what they have learned and for us to show our appreciation of their hard work all year!
- All students will perform in one show with the exception of Company dancers. Each show is approximately 2 1/2 hours in length.
- To avoid delays with costume companies and to keep costs down, the studio places Recital costume orders by the last week of November. Therefore, we require your child’s Recital package of $190 be paid by Monday, Nov. 17, 2008.
- In order to keep costume prices to a minimum, we do not guarantee “perfect” fits and are not responsible for costume adjustments. If you wish to order a special size, please speak with the front desk.
- Many students will be performing in more than one number and will need an additional costume OR accessories. Additional costumes are $70 each and/or accessories are $40.
- If your child needs an additional costume or accessory, you will be notified in December as to the amount. The second balance is due Monday, Jan. 19, 2009.

Rehearsal Notice
March 9-14: FITTING WEEK (Studio)
Each student will receive their costume and tights along with written instructions on how to wear the costume/accessories,
tights, shoes, etc. All costumes will be tried on and each dance will be run in costume.
Parents do not need to attend this week—additional help will be provided.
*Non-participating students may inquire at the front desk about purchasing a costume. Availability is limited and is on a first-come first-served basis.
Costumes will be taken home and any adjustments should be completed before Costume Week. We order costumes based on each dancer’s measurements and the studio
is not responsible for alterations. Please have any necessary adjustments completed prior to Costume Week so that we can have a productive run-through during those classes!
March 16-21: COSTUME/PHOTO WEEK (Studio)
Students will attend their classes with a parent or other adult . To reduce “traffic”, we ask that only one person accompany each child. Attendance is very important as
this is the week that all costume details will be discussed and Recital questions answered. A run–through of each dance will be performed in costume and you are welcome
to videotape and photograph. Students will then have their group and individual portraits taken in a separate room—parents are not permitted in the Photo room.
*Program Ad pictures are taken at this time and can include siblings, friends etc. in any costume you choose!
Students should come dressed in the costume of their first subject and bring all other costumes, tights, shoes and accessories. Hair should be in a bun and make
up is optional. Studio staff will be on hand to help as needed. It is also a good idea to bring a set of dance clothes !
May 15, 18 and 20: TECH REHEARSAL (Olympic Heights)
This rehearsal is to set lighting cues, practice entrances/exits and run through dances on a large stage in front of an audience. No costumes at
Tech Rehearsal-please bring your child in regular dance clothes. Students will be given a rehearsal time and should report to the theater
30 minutes prior to their call time so that they are ready when their group is called. Students should report to the auditorium (not backstage)
and remain there until their dance is called; students should not leave until they have performed all of their dances. An adult must accompany
each student and remain until the student has finished dancing—no child should be dropped off or left unsupervised.
Dances will only be run in the allotted time period—we urge everyone to be prompt. If a student is not present when the group is called they will
miss the opportunity to rehearse on stage. Videotaping and photography are welcomed, but rehearsal is for technical run-throughs only; no costumes at
Tech Rehearsal! An exact Tech Rehearsal schedule will be posted by May 1.
